History, room keys and decrypted files live only in this tab's memory. Closing or refreshing it clears your view. Other participants can keep what they already received or downloaded.

The host holds the room open

Leaving as host ends the room for everyone. Abrupt disconnects expire after 90 seconds without a heartbeat. Background phone tabs can also time out.

Encrypted delivery, not a permanent archive

Sites temporarily relays encrypted messages and files. Normal exits request deletion. Expired sessions cannot access uploads; physical cleanup after crashes is best effort and may wait until another visit. Immediate provider-side erasure is not guaranteed.

Accounts are separate from messages

The Atix password and a one-time code from the admin’s phone protect access. No authenticator enrollment or QR is available here. Login counters and active-session records persist temporarily. The server sees membership, activity and file sizes, but does not receive the room encryption key.

Approve the right people

The room code only locates a room. Compare the verification number privately with the requester before admitting them. Your browser transfers the room key encrypted to their browser. Admitted people can decrypt room content. This shared-key design is not Signal or MLS, has no forward secrecy, and cannot revoke a key someone already copied. Start a new room to rotate its key. A compromised device or website can expose content.
